Latest VASNER Infrared Technology | For an Unbeatable Heating Experience
Citara S mirror heating elements offer a completely different heating experience compared to conventional systems. In terms of both heat quality and design, these slim heating panels set entirely new standards. This is made possible by high-quality infrared heating filaments discreetly integrated behind the toughened safety glass. Arranged in serpentine lines reaching the panel edges, this advanced heating technology produces pure, efficient warmth evenly distributed throughout the room. Instead of heating the air, the emitted heat waves transfer their energy to the surface molecules of all solid objects in the room. These, in turn, radiate the warmth back into the space as secondary heat sources. This creates a gentle, soothing warmth you can feel directly on your skin—similar to the natural, direct heat of the sun. In living spaces, this immediate, natural warmth provides a welcome alternative to the stale, dry air of conventional heaters, which often circulate dust particles. As a result, the Citara S infrared heating panels are a gentle option for people with respiratory conditions or allergies.
Wall Mounting of Citara S Mirror Heating Elements
Vertical or Horizontal Installation
The Citara mounting system allows for a quick and secure wall installation of the mirror heating elements in either a vertical or horizontal alignment. Simply mount the bracket in the desired spot on your wall using the included accessories, and then effortlessly slide the infrared heater into place. The special locking mechanism ensures a reliable hold over time, whether you choose to use the heating element as a vertical, full body mirror or install it horizontally above your washbasin.
Heating Element with Special Toughened Mirror Glass
The mirror glass of the Citara S series differs from the glass used in standard wall and bathroom mirrors. Most importantly, the panel prevents the formation of dangerously large shards in the event of accidental impact. This is achieved through the use of high-quality, toughened safety glass, which shatters into blunt, tiny fragments when damaged. To ensure that the infrared radiation passes seamlessly through the glass surface while simultaneously providing a flawless reflection, a specialised coating is applied. This finishing layer not only enhances the safety glass but also achieves the perfectly concealed design of these bathroom radiators. Advanced VASNER technology at its finest.
Information on the Mirror Heating Element with IP44 Splash Protection for Use as a Bathroom Heater
Ideal Room Temperature in the Bathroom
Bathrooms require a higher level of heat compared to the rest of the house. This is due to the increased humidity, which, if ventilation and heating are not properly managed, can lead to mould on the walls. Additionally, we are more sensitive to cold when stepping out of the shower in the morning. For these reasons, a room temperature of around 23°C is recommended for bathrooms. An infrared mirror heating element, combined with a programmable thermostat, ensures that the room is automatically at the right temperature at the right time, such as when you wake up in the morning. You’ll enjoy warm, sunlike rays from the very first moment and start your day in complete relaxation.
Radiant Heat for a Better Indoor Climate
It is well-known that direct infrared heat offers a higher level of comfort compared to heated air, and this applies to every room in your home. However, the heating effect of an infrared heater proves to be especially beneficial in the bathroom. The direct heat waves penetrate the walls, keeping them warm and dry. This makes it the ultimate solution against damp walls and mould. Additionally, the mirror glass remains free from fog thanks to the infrared heat, which is especially convenient after showering.
Mirror Heating Element with IP44 Splash Protection
Thanks to their comprehensive moisture protection, VASNER mirror heating elements are ideal for use in bathrooms. With IP44 protection, it’s no problem if they are splashed with water from close range. This means they can even be mounted directly above the sink, providing you with immediate warmth the moment you enter the bathroom.

Running Costs of an Infrared Panel
The Citara S infrared mirror heater is a highly efficient electric direct heater. It converts the electricity used directly into heat, with minimal energy loss. The energy expended is transformed into pure warmth, which you can feel immediately. When calculating heating costs, this means you only need to know the power of the bathroom heater and your electricity tariff. For an infrared heater with 450 watts and an average electricity price of 29 cents per kWh, the ongoing costs are as follows:
0,45 kW * 0,29 € / kWh ≈ 0,13 € / h
Operating a 450 watt mirror heater continuously will cost you approximately 13 cents per hour.
EU Regulation on Thermostat Control of Electric Room Heaters
Infrared panel heaters are suitable as a primary heating system under the new GEG 2024, §71 d. The product meets the heating requirements for buildings and living spaces as per the draft law 19/16716 Art. 1 §23 Paragraph 1 No. 3 GEG, as well as the Ecodesign Directive 2015/1188/EU when used with external control. “This product is only suitable for well-insulated rooms or occasional use. This product is not suitable as the primary heating system.” This statement is no longer valid under the new GEG. As a distributor, we are required under the Ecodesign Directive to market each individual room heater with a temperature control system. If you do not add a regulation system to your order, the standard version compliant with the regulations will automatically be included. According to the Ecodesign Directive 2009/125/EC and Regulation (EU) 2015/1188, electric room heaters must be installed, controlled, and operated together with a digital thermostat control featuring “weekday regulation” and “window-open detection” or “adaptive regulation of heating start”. You can find the VFTB Room Thermostat System here. >>
Note on floor stands: Can be used as a mobile device with optional floor stands (NOTE: Floor stands are not suitable for the Citara 300 W & 550 W models).
