Latest VASNER Infrared Technology
For an Unbeatable Heating Experience

No conventional heating system can compete with a Citara S mirror heating element. Both in terms of heat quality and design, the flat panel heaters set entirely new standards. This is only possible thanks to the high-quality infrared heating filaments, which are integrated invisibly behind the special safety glass. Installed in serpentine lines right up to the edge of the panels, the heating technology generates pure, efficient heat that is distributed evenly throughout the room. The emitted thermal waves do not heat the air. Instead, they transmit their vibration to the surface molecules of all solid bodies in the room. As soon as this happens, you can feel a gentle sensation of warmth on your skin. Direct radiant heat, comparable to the warmth of the sun. But without any dangerous UV radiation. In living areas, this direct, natural warmth is a welcome change compared to stuffy, dried-out heating air that spreads dust particles. This makes it a gentle solution for people with respiratory illnesses or allergies.

Inner Technology of the Mirror Heating Element

Mounting the Citara S Mirror Heating Element
Vertical & Horizontal Installation on the Wall

The patented wall bracket by VASNER is already in use with earlier Citara models and has proven itself time and again. The sophisticated technology enables a quick, secure wall mounting of the mirror heating elements in vertical or horizontal alignment. All you have to do is install the mounting bracket in the chosen location using the provided dowels and screws. The infrared panel heater can then be easily snapped into place. The special safety fastener ensures a permanent and reliable hold. No matter whether you choose to use the hallway & bathroom heater vertically as a full-body mirror or horizontally above your washbasin.

Heated Mirror Element with Special Safety Glass

The mirror glass of the Citara S series differs in several ways from the glass of conventional wall and bathroom mirrors. It is important that the panel prevents dangerously large shards from forming in the event of accidental damage. High-quality, toughened safety glass is used for this purpose, which breaks into tiny splinters in a controlled manner in case of damage. To ensure that the infrared radiation can pass through the glass surface freely, while at the same time a perfect mirror image is created, a special coating is necessary. This is applied to the safety glass as a final touch in order to achieve the perfect camouflage of the bathroom mirror heater. Advanced VASNER technology.

Information on the Bathroom Mirror Heating Element with IP44 Splash Water Protection

Ideal Room Temperature in the Bathroom

In the bathroom, we have a higher heat requirement than in other parts of the house. On the one hand, this is due to the increased humidity and steam, which can lead to mould on the walls in case of incorrect ventilation and heating habits. On the other hand, we are more sensitive to cold when we leave the shower in the morning. Therefore, a room temperature of about 23°C is recommended in the bathroom. An infrared mirror heating element, in combination with a programmable thermostat, ensures that the room is always nice and warm at the right time, e.g. when you get up in the morning. So you enjoy summery warmth from the moment you wake up and start your day feeling relaxed.

Radiant Warmth for a Better Indoor Climate

Direct infrared heat has additional wellness benefits compared to heated air, which is true for every room of your house. However, the heating effect of an infrared panel heater proves to be particularly beneficial in the bathroom. This is because the direct heat waves are absorbed by the walls, keeping them pleasantly warm and dry. The ultimate secret weapon against damp walls and mould. The mirror glass also remains fog-free while heating, because the infrared warmth acts as a mirror demister. This is especially convenient after taking a bath or shower.

Mirror Heating Element with IP44 Splash Water Protection

Thanks to their comprehensive moisture protection, VASNER brand mirror heaters are ideal for use in the bathroom. With IP44 protection, it doesn’t matter if they get splashed with water at close range. This means the mirror heating elements can even be mounted directly above the washbasin and provide you with pleasant warmth as soon as you enter the bathroom.

Running Costs of an Infrared Panel Heater

The Citara S mirror heating element is a highly efficient, direct electric heater. It converts the consumed energy straight into heat – without a significant energy loss. The power used is transformed into pure warmth that you can feel on your skin immediately. This means that you only need the output of your bathroom heater and your electricity rate in order to calculate heating costs. Given an infrared mirror heater with 550 watts and an average electricity price of 29 cents / kWh, following running costs arise:

0,55 kW * 0,29 € / kWh ≈ 0,16 € / h

The continuous operation of a 550 watt mirror heating element costs 16 cents per hour.

Thermostats for Efficient Control of Your Mirror Heating Element

If you do not need to heat your home throughout the entire day and would like to maintain a certain room temperature in the evening, for example, you should buy a programmable thermostat for your mirror heating element. Otherwise, the panel heater will operate at maximum power non-stop once it has been plugged in. The right radio or socket thermostat, on the other hand, will deactivate your infrared heating panel as soon as the selected temperature has been reached. Before you return home after work, the room temperature can be automatically increased.

EU Regulation on the Thermostat Control of Electric Room Heaters

Within the scope of Regulation (EU) 2015/1188, electric room heaters must be controlled and operated via electronic room temperature controllers (thermostats) with a “weekday control” and “window-open-detection” function or “adaptive control of the start of heating”. For example, with the matching thermostat set VASNER VFTB you can optimally control infrared heating panels. You can find the VFTB room thermostat system here. >>

Note: Mobile use with additionally available feet (ATTENTION: feet not suitable for Citara 300 W & 550 W models).

Maximum efficiency: approx. 99% of the electrical energy used is converted into thermal output.
